Day 1: Drive from Kaza Village to Langza Homestay

The very first day of the journey begins with a drive from the extremely beautiful Kaza Village towards the Kibber Village. As you enjoy the road leading to Kibber Village you will get a chance to explore the 1000-year-old Key Monastery.

The largest monastery in the Spiti Valley, the Key Monastery stands tall at an elevation of 13,667 feet. The beautiful architecture of the monastery is hugely complemented with the distant snow-capped peaks in the backdrop and the turquoise green Spiti River flowing below. Enjoy the prayer offering ceremony by the monks of the Key Monastery.
After exploration of the beautiful monastery, begin your journey towards one of the highest villages in the world, the Kibber Village. The whitewashed mud homes offer exclusivity to the village and the lush green pastures and farmlands reflect upon the primary occupation of the region i.e. Agriculture. Spend some time enjoying the only greenery in the Spiti Valley before resuming on the drive to Langza.

Langza is associated with rich historical importance in Spiti Valley. Langza is rich in fossils of animals and marine life dating back to the period when Spiti was under the waters of the Tethys Sea. While you are in Langza, you can choose to pay a visit to the 1000 years old Lang Temple and also know about the prehistoric archaeological excavations in this place. Spend an enjoyable night in Langza Home Stay.

Day 2: Komik Homestay

The trekking journey begins today with the destination, Komik Village. The easy walk of around 4 hours leads you to the highest inhabited village of Asia, the Komik Village at an altitude of 14,800 feet. As you carry forward with the journey, you will be passing through Hikkim, the highest post – office in the whole world. Hikkim is also the highest polling station in the world. Follow the trail ahead to reach the sumptuous elevation of 14,800 ft, Komik Village.

While you are in Komik, you can spend the day exploring the region, the vast farmlands, and the herding cattle. You can also visit the Komik Monastery, the highest monastery with a motorable road. The night in Komik is the most enthralling experience as you will get the chance to enjoy the best of stargazing while spending the night in the warmness of the Homestay.

Day 3: Demul Homestay

The Demul Homestay is located at an elevation of 14,435 ft and the journey today is around 5 hours in total. The trail passes through the admirable views of the Chemai Lapcha Pass.

A short journey through the barren rugged lands of Spiti Valley is highly thrilling before the lush greenery of the Demul unfolds before you. The Demul Village is located at a more remote location and is very sparsely populated. Demul Village looks highly admirable during the harvest season. As you reach Demul, you can indulge in interactions with the locals, learn to cook the culinary dish, ‘MOMO’, or enjoy a Yak Safari. Prepare to spend the night in the Demul Homestay.

Day 4: Lalung Homestay

The journey till now has been quite exhilarating, and the excitement continues as you trek to the Lalung Homestay at 12,300 feet. The easy and enjoyable walk of 4 hours takes you on a steep descending trail all the way to the Lingti Valley.

The enticing Lalung is located in the lap of the Tangmar Mountains. The locals worship these mountains as they believe their Gods dwell in these mountains. The Tangmar Mountains, as described by the locals change their colors in different shades of red, browns, and yellows reflecting the mood of the Gods. While you are in Lalung, visit the highly religious Gompa in close vicinity. The oldest Gompa of the Spiti Valley is believed to have been built by the angels. The night in Lalung will be spent hearing the intriguing stories related to the faith and culture of the locals.

Day 5: Dhankar followed by Kaza Village

The very last day of this thrilling trek journey takes you through the Dhankar Village and from there a final drive back to Kaza Village. Dhankar was once the capital of Spiti Valley and is a really exciting place to be in. Located above the confluence of the Pin and Spiti River, the Dhangar offers bewildering panoramic views of the whole of the Spiti Valley. The old fort in Dhankar Village is a notable spot.

While you reach Dhankar, before resuming on the drive back to Kaza Village you can visit the renowned 1200 years old monastery here. The setting of the monastery, balancing on a rocky precipice is a breathtaking sight.

After enjoying the tits and bits of the Dhankar Village, start the final drive back to Kaza village where you will be spending the night.
