Day 1: Driving to the end of the road from Trek Anmo to Cha (2.5 hours)
You could drive by car to the end of the road until Anmo. You can try out an early start of the trek to witness some breathtaking sightseeing of the surroundings. As the road ends, you would come across horses. Then you can start advancing towards the left side of the river. The dreamy path leads from above the river through small villages. You can finish the trekking in Cha which is a bigger village in the region. Here, you can put up a tent and experience the lives of the local villagers amidst the natural heaven.
Day 2: Trek Cha to Tangtse (6.5 hours)
For completing this route, you would need to go down to the river bridge, cross it and then climb the trek again. The entire trek after that is easy to walk. Tangtse is a small village with a few houses and sprawling fields around.
Day 3: Trek Tangtse to Zinchen (4 hours)
You can follow the same side of the river to advance in the trek for until 1 – 1.5 hours. Then, you would have to leave the gorge that would lead to the ridges. This would lead you back to the river at Zinchen wherein you can pitch a tent to enjoy the serenity of the surroundings.
Day 4: Trek Zinchen to Churmik Marpo via Phitse-la (8-9 hours)
You can wake up in the morning early and then cross the pass. You just need to follow the path of the river. The climb can be a little steep until the top of the Phitse-la. Here, you can some spectacular view of the surrounding landscape and snow-fed terrains. The path that leads down reaches you to the broader valley named Churmik Marpo. You can camp here.
Day 5: Trek Churmik Marpo to Umlung (5.5 hours)
You can follow the river down to the left side. As the river starts turning into a small gorge, you can take a horse ride to cross the same. You have to continue until the river becomes bigger at Kham Kherab. Then you can make the crossing again to reach to Umlung that is located at a height of 4,440 meters
Day 6: Trek Umlung to Serchu (4 hours)
You can continue to tread on the right side of the Lingti River. Once you reach the Tsarap River, you can cross it to reach Serchu. Here you would be welcomed with a lot of local Dhabas to satiate your hunger to the fullest. You can sit down at a local Dhaba that offer delectable food and even night shelter. After resting for some time, you can continue your trek back to Leh or Keylong for another set of the thrilling journey. As the trek ends at Serchu, you would gather plentiful memories for your lifetime. This is an adrenaline-arousing journey that you must undertake at least once in life.
