The 8-days itinerary of the Bagini Glacier and Changbang base camp Trek rewards you with some captivating views of the Changbang, Trisuli, Rishi Pahad, Kanakha, and Hardeol Peaks. The trail runs through a number of small villages like Ruing and Dronagiri with the sight of the Bagini Glacier accompanying you.

Day 1: Haridwar to Joshimath (256 KMs 8 – 9 Hours Drive).

Haridwar is a popular destination in the region and is easy to travel to as the well-connected railway routes stretch to almost all parts of the country. Haridwar witnesses a huge number of Hindu pilgrimages from owing to the religious importance it has. Very popular among the tourists, Haridwar is very beautifully placed along the banks of the Gangotri River and is highly rich in culture and traditions. The evening ‘Aarti’ offered to the Gangotri River takes a notable mention as it is a sight to remember.

Day 2: Joshimath to Ruing Village 2, 800 meters / 9, 186 feet) via Jumma Village.

Located near the Tibetan border , the Jumma Village is your first stop in the journey. It takes around an hour drive from Joshimath to Jumma Village and along the way you can witness the beautiful Dhauli-Ganga River. The road passes through small villages like Reni, Lata, and Tapovan finally leading to Jumma Village. As you reach Jumma, set out for the trekking journey to Ruing Village. The trail from Jumma starts with a suspension bridge over the Dhauli-Ganga River followed by an ascend on to the Ruing Village trail. Follow the trail through forests for about 3 hours to reach the Ruing Village. Overnight stay in Ruing Village.

Day 3: Ruing Village 2, 800 meters / 9, 186 feet) to Dronagiri (3, 610 meters / 11, 843 feet).

The well-laid path through the forests to Dronagiri Village looks quite similar to the previous trail. It is a moderately difficult walk comprising of both ascends and descends on a dusty path. As you hike up on the trail, you will cross many small streams to finally reach a cemented pavement. The Dronagiri Village awaits to deliver you some captivating views of the snow-capped Ghori Parvat and Hathi Parvat. Enjoy the view and stay the night here.

Day 4: Dronagiri (3, 610 meters / 11, 843 feet) to Longatulli .

The destination today is Longatulli and as you start your journey out of Dronagiri Village, after some time the incredible sight of the Rishi Pahad is visible. Follow the trail to reach a bridge over the Bagini Nala, and the walk ahead leads to a landscape comprising only of huge boulders. Walk further on the path that leads to Longatulli, ideal place to spend the night.

Day 5: Longatulli to Base Camp.

The Base Camp is also known as the Bagini Lower Base Camp. The walk runs on a rocky trail for about 3 hours to reach the plane plateau of Bagini Lower Camp. You will be amazed at the compelling views of the Satminal, Rishi Pahad, and Hardeul Peak from the base camp.

Day 6: Base Camp to Bagini Glacier and back to Base Camp.

The most thrilling walk of the whole journey, today you will be walking all the way up to the Bagini Glacier and then come back to the Base Camp for the night. Start the day at the earliest to witness the bewildering views of the sunrise from the Changabang Base Camp. It is an ascending trail to Changabang Base Camp and takes around 3 hours to reach.While you are up at the Changabang Base Camp, you will be amazed to witness the astounding views of the distant peaks. The picturesque beauty of a number of peaks like Hathi ParvatGhori Parvat, Satminal, Trisuli, Dunagiri, Garur, Rishi, Kalanka, Changabang, and Hardeul are visible from here. Lose yourself in the bewildering views of the peaks and also witness the raw beauty of the Bagini Glacier. From here you need to start descending back to the Bagini Lower Base Camp. Stay overnight at Base Camp.

Day 7: Base Camp to Ruing Village.

After witnessing the most exhilarating views from the Changabang base camp today you will be walking back to Ruing Village. On your way down you will not be having an intermediate stop at Dronagiri Village, and walk directly to Ruing Village. Stay the night in Ruing Village.

Day 8: Ruing Village to Joshimath.

The final day of the journey takes you back to Joshimath. The descending trail also runs through the Jumma Village where you will be stopping before setting out for Haridwar. After walking till Jumma Village, you can enjoy a relaxing ride back to Haridwar. Trekking to witness the majestic mountains is an addiction that is hard to overcome.
