Some trek journey runs for weeks or more than a week while there are some journeys that only last a few days but reward you with an experience filled with the adrenaline rush at its best. When it comes to enjoying the raw adventure and thrill of nature on a tight schedule, the ‘Binsar trek’ sits strong at the top. The short and relaxed itinerary of the Binsar trek takes you around 22km and to a maximum elevation of 8,000 feet but rewards you with a thrilling experience all set to last a long time.

The trek runs from Binsar Sanctuary up to the Jageshwar in Kumaon region, ensuring that you get the most out of your weekend experience. A short trek with an itinerary of only 3 days, the Binsar trek begins with your arrival in the Capital, Delhi and includes an amazing drive journey followed by an interesting walk with the compelling views of the Himalayas in the backdrop.

As you begin the journey from the Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary, the walk will take you through the thick pine forests and other trees. As you walk on the trail you will get an incredible opportunity to explore the rich flora and fauna of the region.

Amidst the thick forests and few wild animals, you will also get to witness the rural culture and traditions of the region. Indulge in the beautiful culture and reach your destination of Kumaon as you get to spend a night in Kumaon.

Itinerary

Day 1: Arrival at Delhi

The capital city of the country, Delhi has many amazing things to offer to the tourists. Lip smacking delicacies of the Mughals are best delivered in Delhi and each time you visit Delhi the food starts tasting better. Apart from the amazing food, the monuments in the capital are extremely beautiful.

Once you are in Delhi, the extraordinarily rich history of the place will appeal to you even more. Spend an amazing time in Delhi and explore as much as possible of the capital. Stay overnight.

Day 2: Kathgodam

Kathgodam is your first stop in the journey ahead. Though the total session is short, every day the adventure delivered will be equally exciting. Kathgodam is around 300km away from Delhi and the most amazing part of Kathgodam is the journey from Delhi.

The journey starts through the hugely populated streets of Delhi and slowly gets into the quaint streets leading to Kathgodam. It takes around 6 hours to cover the distance and overall the journey gets you excited as you slowly get inside the region. As you reach Kathgodam, you will have time to explore the region, prepare staying the night in Kathgodam.

Day 3: Jawalbanj via Binsar National Park

Today you will begin your journey to the Binsar Wildlife Sanctuary and from there to the Jawalbanj destination. From Kathgodam you will be traveling on wheels to reach Binsar national Park in a 4 hours drive. As you reach the National Park, spend an amazing time exploring the rich flora and fauna of the region and resume your journey to Jawalbanj.

The Sapteshwar Mahadev Temple is a place of attraction in the region. After the drive, you will be starting your walking journey to Jawalbanj. The first half of the walk runs on an easy trail followed by an ascent through the Oak and Rhododendron trees. The trail also offers some bewildering views of the Himalayas as you walk for another 3 hours to reach Jawalbanj. Explore the traditional houses of the village and spend the night in Jawalbanj.

Day 4: Jageshwar temple then to Delhi

The day requires being started early as you will be covering a number of spots before finally going to Delhi. Start the day by heading towards Rock Garden and enjoy the astonishing panoramic views of the Himalayas ranging from Neelkanth in Garhwal to Nampa in Nepal. After enjoying the incredible views, start the walk on the rocky terrain comprising of ascends and finally descend to Vridh Jageshwar.

From here the walk runs on a tarred hill road through Kumaoni settlements to reach Vridh Jageshwar. Spend some time enjoying the incredible beauty of the region and sink in the rich traditions of the Jageshwar Temple. After enjoying the journey resumes towards Kathgodam which will be a drive through the beautiful Nainital.

As you reach Kathgodam, you will be heading towards the completion of the journey with your arrival back in Delhi. You can enjoy an overnight train journey back to Delhi. Cherish the beautiful memories of the amazing trek as you head towards your hometown from Delhi.
