Day 1: Kathgodam to Lohajung (2, 335 meters / 7, 662 feet)

Trekking on a trail that delivers the astounding views of the Himalayas is highly acclaimed by travelers. The Brahmatal trek journey begins with your arrival in Kathgodam. A wide network of rails from nearly all parts of the country connects you to this railway station, just 25km away from the beautiful Nainital. The drive from Kathgodam to Lohajung is an exciting and highly enjoyable one. The road takes around 10 hours and through many popular stops in the region like Bhimtal, Kausani, Almora, and Baijnath. You can choose to stop at Kausani and bask in the incredible beauty of the Himalayas. As you reach Lohajung after a long drive prepares to spend the night here.

Day 2: Lohajung (2, 335 meters / 7, 662 feet) to Bekaltal (2, 953 meters / 9, 690 feet)

Located at an elevation of 3,010 meters, the 6 km distance from Lohajung takes up around 6 hours to complete. The trail begins on a well-marked stone path along forests and houses to reach the upper region of Lohajung. The walk leads you to Mandoli village before reaching the Kail valley, the confluence of Kail River and Pandari River. The further walk on the trail leads you to a bridge linking to Begum village. After enjoying the incredible views from Begum, head on the trail that leads you to Bekaltal through Gujrani stream. Enjoy the mesmerizing lake in the Bekaltal and spend a quaint night on the lake shores.

Day 3: Bekaltal (2, 953 meters / 9, 690 feet) to Brahmatal Lake (3, 185 meters / 10, 450 feet)

Today you will be setting out for the primary destination of the journey, the Brahmatal Lake. Khabekhal is your another option on the list where you can choose to spend the night. The trail to the Brahmatal lake takes p around 4 hours, depending solely on the pace of the walk. The walk from Bekaltal starts through Oak forest for almost an hour leading you to Telandi. You may choose to camp at Khabekhal. The trail out of Telandi runs in the right direction to finally Khabekhal. If the weather is supporting the walk, it is better to walk to the Brahmatal Lake and stay the night there.

Day 4: Bekaltal (2, 953 meters / 9, 690 feet) to Daldum via Brahmatal peak (3, 688 meters / 12, 100 feet)

The most exciting day of the journey constitutes of ascending up to the Brahmatal peak and then a descent to Dumdum. The joy of conquering a peak and reaching the summit keeps your spirit high throughout eradicating any sense of tiredness. The trail leads you to Chota Jhandidar which you need to cross and walk for an hour to reach the peak. The total walk takes around 3 hours and presents you with some bewildering views of the Himalayas and glimpses of Mt.Trisul and Nandaghunti. After savoring the incredible views from the top, start descending on the trail to Daldum which takes up around 3 hours. Stay the night in Daldum.

Day 5: Daldum to Lohajung

The day’s walk marks the successful completion of the amazing trek journey. The beautiful lake, compelling Himalayan vista, and the adventurous trail will be alive in your heart for a very long time. Today you will be enjoying your last walk to Lohajung from Daldum. It is highly advised that you approach the descend with caution and admire the raw beauty of nature all the way back to Lohajung. Just 3.7km away from Daldum, the journey begins through forests which you will exit after some time to reach Malling. The fairly easy walk from Malling is on the well-paved stone path for a couple of hours to finally Lohajung. Make your last night at Lohajung an exciting and adventurous one.

Day 6: Lohajung to Kathgodam

The journey comes to a successful completion as you start with your drive to Kathgodam from Lohajung. You will be traveling on the same road which you took while coming to Lohajung. Enjoy the last ride back to Kathgodam from where you will be heading back to your hometown. Trekking lifts up your spirits and aids in providing you with better health. It is highly advised that you choose to do trekking adventures throughout your life. *We reach Kathgodam by 6 PM post which you can either head back to your hometown or you can stay back in Kathgodam and depart the next day.
