The beauty of the trek lies in the primary destination Dayara, a high altitude meadow that has been a grazing field for many years. The journey also presents the trekkers with astounding views of the Bandarpoonch, Bhagirathi Peak, and Black Peak among the others. The crystal clear water streams across the lush green meadows reflect the picturesque beauty of the peaks. Itinerary

Day 1: Haridwar to Barsu Village (2, 249 meters / 7, 545 feet)

Haridwar has been a place of huge religious importance among the tourists for many years. Beautifully lined across the gushing Gangotri River, Haridwar never fails to give you a joyous experience. The evening ‘Aarti’ offered to the spiritual Gangotri River attracts a lot of religious enthusiasts from all over the country. The Very well connected rail network connects Haridwar easily from any corner of India.

The journey to Barsu Village is 220 KMs away from Haridwar and takes a long 7 hours drive. The road takes you through the popular destinations of Chamba, Rishikesh, and Uttarkashi along the Baghirathi River finally leading you to the small village of Barsu. Also the base camp of the Daraya Bugyal trek, Barsu Village is top notch in terms of natural beauty. Stay the night in Barsu.

Day 2: Barsu Village (2, 249 meters / 7, 545 feet) to Dayara Bugyal via Barnala (2, 600 meters / 8, 530 feet)

Today you will begin your trekking journey, and Dayara Bugyal is the first destination on your list. The trail of 9 KMs takes around 7 hours from Barsu Village and runs through the Barnala Village. The journey begins through the beauty of Rhododendrons, Silver Oaks, and Deodar vegetation and runs on an easy ascend to Barnala. Barnala marks the beginning of the vast green meadows of Dayara and also offers captivating views of the Greater Himalayas.

From Barnala, walk on an ascending trail to approach the huge lush meadow of Dayara. As you enter the region, you will be amazed at the sight of the mighty Himalayas surrounding you. Gangotri I, II, & III, Srikant, Bandarpoonch, Black peak, Draupadi ka Danda I & II, Jaonli, Bhagirathi Peak are among the many distant mountains you will witness from the Dayara Bugyal Meadow. Enjoy the astounding views and stay the night here.

Day 3: Dayara Bugyal to Bakaria Top (3, 657 meters / 12, 000 feet) and Back

Bakaria Top is located at 12,000 feet and is the highest point of the whole journey. It takes around 4 hours in total and presents you with some amazing views.

The Dayara Bugyal is subdivided into many small bugyals, and Bakaria Top is one of the most popular on the list. The walk runs totally on the lush meadows on an ascending trail to Bakaria Top.

A must among the trekkers owing to the outstanding views it offers, Bakaria Top offers the most picturesque beauty you can wish for. Panoramic views of the Greater Himalayas, snow-capped mountains, valleys, and also the sight of the Uttarkashi town, the compelling views from the top is beyond explanation. After enjoying the beauty start trekking down to Dayara Bugyal.

Day 4: Dayara Bugyal to Pichkiya (2, 400 meters / 7, 873 feet)

Today you will be journeying on a descending trail to Pichkiya. Located at 7, 837 feet, the 8 KMs journey takes around 7 hours on mostly a descending trail with a few ascends in between. The journey is through the alpine meadows, sub-alpine forests leading your way to Pichkiya campsite.

The inner valleys and small Rhododendrons over the patches of grasslands look really appealing. The grassland of Pichkiya is located in between the alpine forests. Enjoy your final night of the trek in Pichkiya.

Day 5: Pichkiya (2, 400 meters / 7, 873 feet) to Barsu Village (2, 249 meters / 7, 545 feet).

The incredible journey that offered you some bewildering views of the high altitude meadows finally comes to an end as you descend your way down to Barsu Village. The distance is around 5 KMs from Pichkiya and takes around 4 hours in total giving you ample time left to explore the small village of Barsu.

The walk carries on a well-marked trail from Pichkiya and as you reach halfway into the journey, the scattered settlements of the Barsu Village unfold before you. Spend the day witnessing the rural culture and lifestyle of the region and indulging in interactive sessions of the locals. Have a deep insight into the lifestyle and spend an exciting night in Barsu Village.

Day 6: Barsu Village to Haridwar (Departure).

Today you will be traveling back to Haridwar and you can choose to explore the popular spots in Haridwar.
Trekking on an adventurous trail packs a lot of thrill we all crave for. There are many trekking routes in Uttarakhand and all are equally exciting, if not more.

You will reach Haridwar by evening and you can book your onward journey post 7 PM.
