    Manaslu circuit trek itinerary

    Day 1: Arrive at Kathmandu.

    If you are traveling in Nepal, you cannot ignore the Capital. Every trek plan starts with the arrival in the capital city. Kathmandu holds the true beauty of the country. The temples, the people, the rich culture, the tastiest food, and many other things, Kathmandu demands to be explored and not just once but each time. On the first day, you will be stationed in Kathmandu and attend the Manaslu circuit trek briefing season. After briefing season, you are free for the day. You can visit Pashupatinath temple, the famous monkey temple, and Durbar Square if time permits. Have the final peaceful overnight stay and enjoy the best Nepalese cuisine for dinner. Your journey of the Manaslu circuit trek will start the following day.

    Day 2: Drive to Maccha Khola (900 meters / 2, 952 feet): 9 hrs.

    Rise and Shine, you are all set to experience one of the most thrilling trekking adventures. A drive to Machha Khola from the capital should start early. It takes around 9 hours to reach Machha Khola. The drive will let you enjoy the beautiful landscapes of the countryside of Nepal. The view of the mountains will accompany you on the drive throughout. The long drive will be set on different terrains, while the first half. Till Dhading Bensi, we will be on a smooth paved road. The next half to Machha Khola via Sotikhola through the pleasant market town of Arughat Bazar will consist of uneven, rough dirt roads. There will be an overnight stay in Machha Khola before you finally start walking for the Manaslu circuit trek the next day.

    Day 3: Machha Khola to Jagat (1, 410 meters / 4, 625 feet): 6 – 7 hrs.

    The following trek is through ups and downs and is all ready to give you a bit of a tough run. The walk from Machha Khola to Jagat through the short and sweet village of Tatopani. The hot spring in Tatopani deserves a mention and there is a hot spring in the “Village square.” From Tatopani, you will cross the Budhi Gandaki river over a suspension bridge, and further, you will have to climb a staircase across a landslide and reach Dobhan. Further, you will reach Jagat by crossing the west bank of the Budhi Gandaki, then climbing on a ridge, and finally trekking your way to the destination. Overnight in Jagat.

    Day 4: Jagat to Deng (1, 804 meters / 5, 917 feet): 6 – 7 hrs.

    The next destination on our Manaslu circuit trek map is Deng. The journey to Deng covers almost 7 hours, and the beautiful place is located at an elevation of 1804m. The journey starts with an accent over a ridge to Salleri and then a descent to Sirdibas. From Sirdibas, the trail follows till Ghatta Khola, and the valley widens as you walk. Further moving upstream and crossing the suspension bridge, you will reach the large Gurung village of Philim. Following the walk further, you will walk on both the western and eastern banks of the Budhi Gandaki river. Follow the trail to reach Deng Khola. Cross the Khola to reach the tiny pleasant village of Deng finally. There is an overnight stay in the Deng village.

    Day 5: Deng to Namrung (2, 630 meters / 8, 626 feet): 6 – 7 hrs.

    The Budhi Gandaki will be the next destination on our Manaslu circuit trekking map today, and you will have to cross the river again to reach Rana. From Rana, you will ascend further up to Bhi and follow the trail to reach the Budhi Gandaki valley. You will get to explore a forest on the trail before reaching Ghap. There is a different route to walk on from Ghap, but the route through the Prok village is the one you should choose. The amazing viewpoint in the Prok Village will show you the astounding view of the Siringi Himal. Before reaching Namrung, you will get to experience one last steep climb. The day will be tiring, and your body demands a good sleep tonight after this part of our Manaslu circuit trekking itinerary in Namrung.

    Day 6: Namrung to Sama Gaon (3, 530 meters / 11, 578 feet): 6-7 hrs.

    The Namrung is an exciting place to be in and the morning is the most amazing time to experience the view of the Ganesh Himal and the Siringi Hill. In the south of Namrung, one can see Mt. Himal Chuli. The whole view is not to miss due to the peculiarity it carries. Further, following the trail, you will be witnessing an amazing view of Mt. Manaslu and other mountains like Himal Chuli and Peak 29 in the Shyala Village. There will be large glaciers to see and also and also other snow-capped summits. You will have an overnight stay in the Sama Gaon village.

    Day 7: Rest Day / Acclimatization Day.

    Samagaon is the last major settlement before continuing, and today is acclimatisation day. Today, we will travel to the well-known Birendra Tal and Anie Gompa. Following our brief hike, we will return to our tea house and rest. You can explore Samagaon’s streets and get a feel for the local way of life.

    Day 8: Sama Gaon – Samdo (3, 860 meters / 12, 660 feet): 4 – 5 hrs.

    The journey from here starts descending and following the Budhi Gandaki River yet again. As the journey follows the Larkya La, the valley widens up and the trail also crosses a number of Mani walls. The easy trail leads to Kermo Kharka on a shelf. After dropping the shelf you will cross the Budhi Gandaki River again. From there you will get to see a large white Kani (Buddhist Arch). Then we will cross through Kani to reach up to Samdo. You will be staying overnight in Samdo before the departure.

    Day 9: Samdo to Dharamshala (4, 460 meters / 14, 628 feet): 4 – 5 hrs.

    You will continue walking today down the edge and yet again cross the Budhi Gandaki River. The trail will allow a magnificent view of the Larkya Glacier before going around the Salka Khola valley and reaching up to the stone Guest House. This place is ideal for shelter and is called the Dharamshala or the Larke Phedi. The journey today is short sparing time for acclimatization and a good overnight rest in Dharamshala.

    Day 10: Dharamshala to Larkya La (5, 160 meters / 16, 924 feet) to Bimthang (3, 720 meters / 12, 201 feet): 9-10 hrs.

    On the toughest day of our Manaslu Circuit Trek, it takes 9 to 10 hours to cross the Larkya La Mountain Pass. It’s one of the longest mountain passes in Nepal. At first, take a short climb to the Larkya La and fall in love with the splendid views of the Cho Danda and the Larkya peak. Along the pass, you will also witness the amazing view of the Himlung Himal, Kanguru, Cheo Himal, the majestic Annapurna II, and a magnificent view of the Manaslu Zone. The walk to Bimthang is long, but the journey is filled with enthralling views and landscapes all along. The further trip will be continued after an overnight stay in Bimthang.

    Day 11: Bimthang to Tilije (2, 300 meters / 7, 546 feet): 6 hrs.

    From a ridge after Bhimtang village, we can enjoy a breathtaking panorama of the Himalayas today. After passing the Dudh Khola bridge, the trail continues through lovely rhododendron trees, meadows, and a hike to the riverbank before heading towards the village of Gho. A short hike would bring us to Tilije from Gho village. Tilije is a small village with few good tea houses.

    Day 12: Tilije to Dharapani (1, 900 meters / 6, 233 feet): 5 hrs.

    Bimthang will also allow you to have great views of the outstanding mountains like the Cheo Himal and the Himlung Himal and of course, Mt. Manaslu. The trail will make you cross the beautiful Rhodendron forests. Dharapani village is a beautiful village. Situated on the bank of the Marsyangdi River, there is a waterfall next to the village which looks spectacular. Overnight in Dharapani.

    Day 13: Drive to Besisahar and Same day Reach Kathmandu.

    Today we will reach Besisahar by a local jeep, the road journey to Besisahar is spectacular, you can see many waterfalls on the way, and you will cross the famous village Jagat before arriving at Besisahar. After your arrival at Besisahar, our vehicle will receive you and drive you to Kathmandu. Overnight at Kathmandu. Besisahar to Kathmandu transport always varies as per your package, if your package doesn’t include a private vehicle then we provide the local bus to Kathmandu.

    Day 14: Departure

    The 14th day marks the end of the journey, where you will be headed back home from the airport in the capital. Surf your way through the amazing pictures and memories you have clicked. Relive the destinations and stops. Remember the landscapes and the mountains and inspire yourself to plan the next journey soon enough.
