Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu

The journey is filled with adventure, thrill, and is packed to present you with an adrenaline rush and let you experience the beauty of Nepal through the vivid landscapes and the glimpse of the great mountain ranges. The capital of the country, Kathmandu has exciting places to visit like the Hindu temple, the Monkey temple, and Buddhist shrine. Kathmandu will help you experience the best of authentic Nepalese cuisine as well. Spend your day exploring the capital and sleep the night in the culturally rich city of Nepal.


Day 2: Fly from Kathmandu to Tumlingtar then drive to Chichira (1,980m/6497ft).

Chichira is a small Gurung settlement where you will reach by the drive via Tumlingtar. The drive from Tumlingtar will take up around 5 hours to reach Chichira located at an elevation of 1980m. The trekking journey starts the next day, so spend a quaint night preparing for the following day’s trek, stay the night in Chichira.


Day 3: Chichira to Num (1,560m/5119ft).

Num is located at an elevation of 1560m and the trek will take up around 6 hours to reach. The journey will be along beautiful villages and lush green mountain forests and the walk today will be on a moderate pace. The beautiful village of Num has a ridge line with picturesque beauties on either side and perched on the end. Stay the night in the beautiful village of Num.

Day 4: Num to Seduwa (1,500m/4922 ft).

The journey today will be to Barun river through lush dense forests and beautifully terraced farmlands, cross the Barun river and follow a hike to the other side again. The forest in the valley is a good place to get some shade of the hot temperature. Follow the trail to reach Makalu Barun national park where you will be receiving the permit, set up the camp right at the top of the village. Spend the night in Sedua.

Day 5: Seduwa to Tashigaon (2,100m/6890ft).

To reach Tashigaon you will have to ascend the ridge that is bounded by Kasuwa Khola on the east and Ipsuwa Khola on the west. The exotic village of Tashigaon can be reached by walking via quiet villages and small beautiful paddy fields. The village of Tashigaon will present you with an incredible panoramic view of the Himalayas. Spend the night in the lap of Himalayas in Tashigaon.

Day 6: Tashigaon to Khongma Danda (3,500m/11,483 ft).

The trail today will be a tougher one as it will mostly have a steep trail. Follow the trail and ascend through forests and streams before finally reaching a ridge. The trail gets, even more, steeper and you will have to cross small lakes and stone stairs on your way to the top of the ridge. The distance from here to Khongma Danda, spend the night in the Khongma Danda village.

Day 7: Acclimatization Day.

After the continuous trek for 6 days, your body needs rest as the journey the next day is on a rough terrain to cross the Shipton la. Spend the day giving your body the needed rest and explore the surrounding region of the Khongma Danda village. Stay the night here

Day 8: Khongma Danda to Dobate.

The journey will start with a climb towards the Shipton La and it will take up few hours to reach the pass. From here onwards the trail will lead to Kalo Pokhari lake which you will cross to finally reach the Keke La pass. The destination will present you with astounding views of the Peak 6, and Peak 7 along with the Chamlang range as well. Cross the Keke La pass and follow the descend through the incredible valley to finally reach Dobate where you will be spending the night.

Day 9: Dobate to Yangri Kharka (3,557m/11,670 ft)

Start the day early from Dobate to pass through beautiful Rhododendron forests to the upper part of the valley and finally reach the Barun River. Approach the first two hours of the journey with utmost caution as the trail is steep and considered dangerous. Follow the trail to slowly gain altitude through a pleasant walk to finally reach the Yangri Kharka located at the base of the valley. Spend the night in Yangri Kharka.

Day 10: Yangri Kharka to Langmale Kharka(4,410m/14,468ft).

The walk today will be on a moderately easier trail, walk to the valley through boulder fields, yak pastures, and lush green forests. As you will pass Merek to trek further up you will be glad to notice the significant rise in the incredible views of the Himalayas. Spend the night in Langmale Kharka.

Day 11: Langmale Kharka to Makalu Base Camp(4,870m/15,978ft).

You are in midway to the journey and today you will be visiting the Makalu Basecamp, the prime destination of your adventure trek. You will reach the Makalu Base camp from Langmale Kharka through the Shershong.

Along the trail, the majestic mountains and icy glaciers will accompany you and present you with some amazing views. From Shershong you will get to witness the most amazing views of the Mt. Manaslu, spend some time before finally moving up the trail to reach the base camp. Spend the night in Makalu Base camp.

Day 12: Explore Makalu Basecamp.

The Makalu Base camp will present you with an incredible panoramic view of the majestic Himalayas towering upon you. The rocky barren place of the Basecamp is an ideal place to enjoy the Mt. Makalu and also the most amazing view of the mighty Mt. Everest and Mt. Lhotse. The Barun river glacier will rest will rest just beyond the Basecamp. There are also some beautiful lakes and glaciers that you can explore as you stay the day in the camp, spend the night in the most amazing ambiance in the Makalu Base Camp.

Day 13: Makalu Base Camp to Yangri Kharka.

The stay in the Makalu Base Camp is over and it’s time that you retrace your steps back to put an end to the beautiful journey. The Yangri Kharka is your first destination as you start traveling back. Witness one final glimpse of the Mt. Manaslu as you travel through Shershong, Merek, and Langmale Kharka to finally reach Yangri kharka where you will be spending the night.

Day 14: Yangri Kharka to Dobate.

The trail down to Dobate from Yangri Kharka will follow along with the river banks of the Barun river. Move down on the trail through beautiful lush green forests, rock falls and valley to finally reach the Dobate village again. Stay the night in Dobate village.

Day 15: Dobate to Khongma Danda.

The trail down to Khongma Danda will first include a steep climb through fir and rhododendron forests to reach Mumbuk. As you follow the trail down you will cross the Keke La, Shipton’s pass and Kauma La to finally reach back to the beautiful Khongma Danda village. The trail today will take up around 6 hours to complete, spend the night in Khongma Danda.

Day 16: Khongma Danda to Tashigaon.

The Sherpa village of Tashigaon is beautiful and exotic in every way possible. After the trail of 5 hours to Tashigaon ends through the thick forests spend the day enjoying the picturesque beauty of the surrounding ranges. The path today comprises of steep climbs and rough terrain so approach with great caution. Spend the night in Tashigaon.

Day 17: Tashigaon to Seduwa.

You have finally reached the climax of the amazing journey as you move towards the completion of the trek. You will have to cross the Makalu Barun National park as you retrace your steps back and finally reach the banks of the Barun river. Follow the trail down to cross villages and settlements before finally reaching Seduwa where you will be spending the night.

Day 18: Seduwa to Num.

Today you will continue the journey downwards through lush forests. The trail comprises of random ascends and descends through thick forests and Sherpa Villages. Follow the trail to reach Num, spend the night in Num.

Day 19: Num to Tumlingtar

The trail to Tumlingtar will be through Chichira. Today you will get the final glimpse of the Makalu mountain as you travel down to reach Tumlingtar. Spend the night admiring the beauty of the Makalu mountain for one last time in Tumlingtar.

Day 20: Fly from Tumlingtar to Kathmandu.

From Tumlingtar today you will be back in Kathmandu, spend the day in the capital exploring and shopping for your loved ones. Try the culinary dishes and prepare to leave early the next day. Stay the night in Kathmandu

Day 21: Final Departure.

The beautiful and amazing Manaslu Trek has come to an end and as you reach your hometown, you will resume your daily chores. Spend the time of return remembering the beautiful memories and plan your next adventure trip to Nepal.
